The third European Conference on Emotion, organized by the Consortium of European Research on Emotion (CERE), will be held in Villeneuve d’Ascq, France, April 22-24, 2010. This biennale Conference stands out as the "not-to-be-missed" gathering place for European researchers specialized in emotion research. The general theme of the Meeting emphasizes the last developments of emotion research. The scientific program includes four invited keynotes by leading researchers in central fields of emotion research : cognition and emotion / emotional appraisal (Pr. Klaus Rothermund, Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena, Germany), neurosciences and neuropsychology of emotions (Dr. David Sander, University of Geneva –Switzerland), emotional processes in clinical psychology and in self-regulation (Dr. Emily Holmes, Oxford University, UK), and emotions in psychosocial processes (Pr. Wilco van Dijk, Tilburg University, the Netherlands). In addition, several symposia and sessions of 30' oral presentations and of poster presentations will be organized. Young researchers and PhD students are especially encouraged to submit proposal for these presentations. A major goal of this Conference is to encourage the exchange of scientific ideas, methods, and information between European emotion researchers. More specifically, attention will be paid to encourage formal as well as informal meeting between researchers and PhD students in order to promote networking. To this end, the scientific and social programs are designed to offer a maximum of opportunities to meet and discuss current development of emotion research. |
